West Indies defeated Sri Lanka by three wickets in the super sixes at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in South Africa this morning.
Deciding to take first knock, the young Sri Lankans were bowled-out for 231 off their fifty overs.
Raneico Smith took four for 47.
In reply, the Windies Under-19s barely managed home on 232 for seven off 49.3 overs.
Steve Wedderburn led with 61, assisted with 39 from Jordan Johnson, 33 from Captain Stephan Pascal and an unbeaten 27 from Nathan Sealy.
The young West Indies side’ next match is against Australia Under-19s on Friday from 4:00 a.m. Barbados time.
