September 16, 2024

St. Lucia Kings have moved into second place in the Republic Bank CPL, after last night’s victory over Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.

In their final home game at the Daren Sammy Stadium, the Kings were sent into bat and posted 152 for 8.

David Wiese topscored with 43, while Falcons Skipper Chris Green took 4 for 22 and Shamar Springer 3 for 19.

Falcons in reply only made 126 for 8 for the Kings to win by 26 runs.

Green had an all-round good match, as he also topscored for the Falcons with 48.

Player of the Match Khary Pierre took 3 for 24 and Noor Ahmad 2 for 13.

The result puts the Kings on eight points along with leaders Barbados Royals, but the Royals have a superior net run rate.

The Falcons remain fifth on four points.

Today’s an off day in the CPL.

It resumes tomorrow with the Royals playing their final home game at Kensington Oval against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

It’ll be live on MCTV’s Sportsmax Channel 310, and shown tape-delayed on CBC TV’8 from 8:03 p.m.
