South Africa edged out Bangladesh by four runs in their ICC Men’s T-20 World Cup 2024 match in New York today.
Opting to bat, South Africa posted 113 for six off their twenty overs, led with 46 from player of the match Heinrich Klaasen while Tanzim Hasan Sakib took three for 18.
Spinner Keshav Maharaj then took two wickets in the final over as Bangladesh could manage only 109 for seven off their allocation.
Maharaj ended with three for 27.
South Africa leads that group with six points, while Bangladesh are still second on two.
There’s a triple-header tomorrow.
At 10:30 a.m., Pakistan have a must-win match against Canada; as does Sri Lanka against Nepal at 7:30 p.m., while Australia can clinch a berth into the super eights with victory over Namibia at 8:30 p.m.
