Barbados Royals suffered their first defeat of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League going down to arch-rivals Trinbago Knight Riders by two wickets.
Sent into bat at Kensington Oval last night, the Royals posted 156 for seven from their 20 overs.
Skipper Rovman Powell top-scored with 59 not out that included 2-fours and 5-sixes, while Quinton De Kock added 39.
Player of the Match Akeal Hosein took two for 29.
In reply, T.K.R. took it down to the wire, as they got home on 159 for eight with one ball to spare.
Both Nicholas Pooran and Shaqkere Parris made 35 runs apiece, while Royals’ Maheesh Theekshana took three for 26 in a losing effort.
The Royals are back in action again tonight at Kensington Oval in a top-of-the-table clash against the Warriors.
Play started at 7:00 p.m., and is live on MCTV’s Sportsmax channel 310, while it will be aired tape delayed on CBC TV8 from 7:35 p.m.
