Exciting West Indies all-rounder Kyle Mayers has been appointed the new captain of the Barbados Pride squad for the upcoming CG United CWI Regional Super 50 tournament, set to bowl off from October 27 to November 24.
It’s a relatively youthful squad, with the likes of promising top-order batter Kadeem Alleyne also included.
Among the selectees is wicket/keeper batsman Demetrius Richards who has been elevated to the pride set -up after impressing at the domestic level.
The squad announcement was made this morning by Chairman of Selectors Henderson Broomes during a media conference at Kensington Oval.
Mayers says he plans to impose an exciting brand of cricket as captain.
