Hodge signals he’s ready for test against England

July 4, 2024

Kavem Hodge has signalled to the tour selectors that he’s ready for the first test against hosts England.

Hodge led the Windies 1st innings batting with a polished 112 off 128 balls, made up with 14-fours and two-sixes, as Captain Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and batted on day one of the 3-day tour match against First-Class Counties select XI at Kent County Cricket Ground, in Beckenham.

The West Indies were bowled out for 339, with Alick Athanaze adding 74, Kirk McKenzie 73 and Mikyle Louis 50.

Hodge and Louis put on 106 for 3rd wicket partnership.

Farhan Ahmed 4 for 48 and John Turner 4 for 60.

The F.C.C. eleven reached 15 without loss when rain forced an early close.

This is the only warm-up game for the West Indies before they face England in the first test at Lord’s starting July 10.
