West Indies crashed out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in the first round after losing to Ireland by nine wickets at Bellerive Oval in Hobart, Australia on Friday.
West Indies batted first and scored 145-6 off 20 overs and Ireland made light work of their reply, posting 150-1 off 17.3 overs.
It was the second defeat for West Indies in the preliminary round, having lost to Scotland on Monday.
Although they rallied against Zimbabwe on Wednesday, their loss to Ireland stops them advancing to the Super 12s stage of this year’s T20 World Cup continuing in Australia.
