The regional under-19 double crown cricket champions are back home!
The successful Barbados squad, who captured both the CWI Rising Stars under-19 two-day and 50-over championships in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, returned home last night to a big celebratory greeting from family, friends and local cricket officials at the Grantley Adams International Airport.
Head Coach Sherwin Campbell told CBC Sports that the results did not come as a surprise to him.
With the passing of Hurricane Beryl delaying the championships prior to the team’s arrival, Assistant Coach Dexter Toppin said the youngsters adjusted with no issues.
Nathan Sealy is a proud captain as he bows out of this level of cricket on a high.
