The Barbados Golf Association is putting to rest rumours, about a national team being stranded in Jamaica as a result of Hurricane Beryl.
Manager of the Barbados team to the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championship, David Phillips, tells CBC Sports that while the championship has indeed been postponed due to the threat of Hurricane Beryl, all but three of the team left Jamaica between Monday and Wednesday.
Those remaining are Jonathan Broome, Kaidon Bishop and Kiara Wilson.
They, along with Phillips and their parents, will be heading to Trump National in Doral Florida, to play in the Optimist International.
Phillips confirms that those who are still in Jamaica, are safe and comfortable.
They are scheduled to leave for Florida on Saturday.
The new date for the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championship is tentatively set for August 5-9.
