The final Super Eight spot in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was claimed last night by Bangladesh when they defeated Nepal in a Group ‘D’ fixture in St. Vincent.
Bangladesh joins South Africa as the two teams to advance from Group ‘D’ into the Super Eights.
Bangladesh then dismissed Nepal for 85 in 19.2 overs to win by 21 runs.
Player of the Match Tanzim Hasan Sakib took four for seven.
That was also the lowest total ever successfully defended in a men’s T20 World Cup match.
Bangladesh ended their group in second place on six points, while Nepal were winless on one point.

In the meantime, with Bangladesh’s win, the Netherlands were knocked out.
The Dutch playing a dead rubber against Sri Lanka were beaten by 83 runs.
Sent into bat, Sri Lanka posted 201 for six, led with 46 apiece from Kusal Mendis and Charith Asalanka.
In reply, the Netherlands were bowled out for 118 in 16.4 overs.
