Barbados’ Olympic medal hope, Sada Williams, is into the final of the Women’s 400 metres at the Paris Olympic Games.
Williams is the first Bajan woman to make an Olympic track final.
She was fastest of the non-automatic qualifiers from this evening’s semifinal #3, placing third in 49.89 seconds.
Speaking after the race Sada admitted that it was not as easy as she anticipated.
Williams says she feels good mentally and physically, and has appealed to Bajans to throw their full support behind her come Friday.
CBC TV8 will have a special Sada Watch on Friday from 1:45 p.m. before the final, with added analysis after the event.
Meanwhile, CBC Sports took to the streets after Sada’s semifinal run.
