Trinidad and Tobago’s former Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has revealed he is now interested in becoming the Prime Minister of the twin island republic.
In a statement on Friday, Griffith said he’s no longer interested in the post of Commissioner as the new Police Service Commission has changed the criteria for selection to now only consider career police officers.
He lamented the PSC’s move now ignored the many achievements under his tenure, and debarred highly qualified and capable individuals like him from leading the police.
The former top cop, who has been critical of Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, says he will use his leadership to unite the country.
