Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley wants the history of West Indies Cricket integrated in school curricula across the region.
She says countries have to confront the fact that the younger generation is not aware of cricketing greats.
She says the region must celebrate and tell the stories of its people.
The Barbadian leader’s comments came at the close of the two-day CARICOM Regional Cricket Conference in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
Meanwhile, during a panel discussion, Prime Minister Mottley expressed optimism that a planned regional ferry service to link Barbados, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago will help address the vexing issue of regional travel which has also been impacting sports.
