Youth on a mission to clean up coasts

One youth group is on a mission to clean up the island’s coasts.

According to National Coordinator of the Caribbean Youth Environment Network Shanna Weekes, to date they have removed over 100,000 pieces of marine debris from over 20 beaches.

She was speaking during the launch of this year’s Barbados International Coastal Cleanup at Folkestone Marine Park.

Meanwhile, Minister of Environment, National Beautification and the Blue and Green Economy Adrian Forde lauds the youth group for ensuring Barbados is clean for generations to come, and urges them to continue to advocate for change.
