By the end of this month, Barbadians will be able to once again purchase imported chicken wings from the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (BADMC).
The good news is coming from Minister of Agriculture, Food and Nutritional Security, Indar Weir, who says while Barbados stopped importing chicken wings from the United Kingdom last year due to the bird flu outbreak, the authorities have given the BADMC permission to resume ordering from that source market.
He says the move is in response to an influx of inquiries from the public regarding when the corporation would resume selling the part of the chicken which is a Barbadian favourite.
However, Minister Weir made it clear that despite the importation of chicken wings to fill a gap, the Government’s priority is to continue to support the local poultry sector.
