Visitor suspected of drowning in pool

Police at the Hastings/Worthing Station are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the suspected drowning of a Costa Rican visitor, staying at Bushy Park, Rockley Golf Course and Country Club, Rockley, Christ Church.

The unresponsive body of the man who has not been publicly identified, was discovered around 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, in a pool at the said golf course and country club.

Police said in a press release that the deceased arrived on the island on July 12, 2024, with several friends and was scheduled to depart the island on July 20, 2024. On the mentioned date and time, the club’s pool technician discovered the body floating in the pool and reported the matter to management who then informed the police. A friend with whom the deceased was travelling, identified the body.
