An elderly Barbadian woman has been killed in the US, after being struck by 2 hit-and-run drivers.
79-year-old Yvonne Sandiford was reportedly crossing a Brooklyn Street around 6:35 yesterday evening when the tragedy occurred.
The first car struck her while she was crossing the road near the corner of New York Avenue and Herkimer Street in Crown Heights.
She was subsequently hit by the 2nd car as she laid on the road.
Neither of the drivers stopped to check on her and left the scene.
Ms. Sandiford was pronounced dead at the scene.
The elderly woman had been living in Brooklyn since 1991, and is the matriarch of a large family from Barbados.
She had 10 children, 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
