The Tactical Response Unit (TRU) of the Barbados Police Service (TBPS), has arrested and formally jointly charged two people on several drug-related offences.
They are 51-year-old Timothy Nicholas Joseph of Maxwell Hill, Christ Church, and 35-year-old Adieka Kelly-ann Campbell, a Jamaican national of 6th Avenue, St. Barnabas, St. Michael.
The pair are being charged with the following offences committed on Saturday, October 26, 2024, while at Sterling Road, St. Philip:
Possession of Cannabis
Possession with intent to supply cannabis
Trafficking in cannabis
Possession of cocaine
Intent to supply cocaine
Trafficking in cocaine
Police say the 1 kilo of cocaine has a street value of 50 thousand Barbados dollars while the cannabis which weighed 0.5 Pounds is valued at four thousand dollars.
Joseph and Campbell appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes in the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Joseph pleaded guilty to all charges and was fined ten thousand dollars in twelve months or nine months in prison.
However, Campbell pleaded not guilty to all charges and was granted bail of ten thousand dollars with one (1) surety.
She is scheduled to reappear in the District ‘A’ Magistrate Court on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
