Students encouraged to make good choices

August 10, 2024

Just over a year ago, 60 students undertook to pursue Bachelor Degree Programmes offered by the Barbados Community College and Delaware State University.

To date, 24 have enrolled in Agricultural Science, 12 in Biology, 10 in Chemistry and 14 in Mathematics, with some making the President’s List with a grade point average of 4.0, and the Dean’s List with a 3.25 GPA at the end of their first year.

A second cohort will soon be starting their first year in the programme.

BCC’s Principal Annette Alleyne urges students to make good choices and continue to remove barriers that limit what they can be, what they can do, what they can become and where they can go.

She was speaking during the Delaware State University Celebration of Excellence and Award Ceremony.

Vice President for Strategic Enrollment, Management and International Affairs at Delaware State University Antonio Boyle says they are on a mission to ensure those registered to complete courses get the best preparation for their respective careers.
