The time has come for all stakeholders involved in child protection to reshape their thinking.
This from Minister of Home Affairs and Information Wilfred Abrahams.
He was speaking during Debate in the Lower House on the Report of the Joint Select Committee on the Social Sector and the Environment on the Child Justice Bill.
Minister Abrahams says gone are the days of lick and lock up, but rather there is a new focus on restorative justice.
He notes it is the same philosophy being adopted in the adult system.
The Child Justice Bill was passed in the Lower House.
