The public is advised that the St. Philip Polyclinic is expected to reopen next Thursday, August 17.
The Polyclinic had closed temporarily starting Thursday, August 10 after several members of staff reported that they were unable to work due to environmental issues.
In a release, it was noted that some of the environmental concerns resulted from construction work being undertaken by the Ministry of Health and Wellness to improve service delivery to the public over the last four months. Construction on the clinic was paused but working conditions further deteriorated.
Yesterday, a meeting was held between representatives of the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the National Union of Public Workers and the Unity Workers Union to discuss the environmental issues and establish a way forward.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. the Most Honourable Kenneth George says the Ministry has committed to working diligently to address the environmental health matters that have affected staff.
He added he is hopeful that the clinic will resume its services to the public next Thursday.
