A St. Michael man is counting his losses after losing his house and possessions to fire early this morning.
According to reports, the stone and timber property was razed about seventeen minutes to nine at St. Stephen’s, Black Rock.
Fire officials tell CBC News the occupant was at home at the time of the blaze and had to be rescued.
He was subsequently taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment due to shock.
Two water tenders and nine fire officers under the command of Divisional Officer Wayne Vaughn, Station Officer Roger Bourne and Leading Fire Officer Kevin Padmore responded to the blaze.
