A young man has died following a shooting incident in Durants Village, St. James last night.
He has been identified as 23-year-old Jadan Joel Murray of Halls Village #1, also in St. James.
Police say after receiving a report around 9:05 p.m. that several gunshots had been heard in the area, they responded to a bar in Durants Village.
Investigations revealed that a number of masked men had earlier opened fire on two men who were walking towards the bar.
Murray died at the scene, while the other man has been hospitalised.
The masked men opened fire on another man as they were fleeing the scene. However, that man was an off-duty police officer and armed. Following an exchange of gunfire, two of the assailants were injured but managed to flee the scene.
Police are still on scene carrying out investigations.
