Barbadians will have to wait several weeks to hear whether the Barbados Light and Power Company Limited has been successful in its bid to raise electricity rates.
In a statement, CEO of the Fair Trading Commission Dr. Marsha Atherley-Ikechi says with the hearing completed, the Ccommission now awaits the closing statements from the intervenors which are to be submitted by Ffriday, Ooctober 28th, 2022.
She adds once the information has been submitted, the Eelectricity Ppanel, with the assistance of staff, will begin the process of reviewing all the arguments and evidence presented during the proceeding.
It is expected to take approximately 6 to 8 weeks for the FTCftc to assess all the evidence presented and render its decision.
The rate hearing concluded on Friday, October 14th after 15 days of arguments by seven intervenors and the Applicant.
