The Ministry of Education is in the process of developing an overall security plan for all schools.
The assurance from Education Minister, Kay McConney, in light of several security breaches at schools, including one in which a student was allegedly assaulted. However, Ms. McConney says it will take some time, as the plans will need to be tailor-made for individual schools. She was speaking during the Barbados Labour Party’s St Philip South annual general meeting.
As it relates to plans for education reform, she says the general public will also get a chance to have a say. The Education Minister expects those consultations will be completed by year-end. She says once that is finished, a final proposal for educational transformation will be created.
