Barbados and other countries in the southern Caribbean continue to be impacted by a massive plume of Saharan dust moving across the Atlantic Ocean.
It has prompted the Barbados Meteorological Services to issue a Significant Dust Haze Advisory and call for Barbadians with respiratory issues and allergies to walk with their medication.
While noting it’s unusual for such an event at this time of year, Deputy Chief Meteorologist Brian Murray says the concentrations of Saharan dust vary from time to time.
He says the dust haze also impacts precipitation.
Mr. Murray was a guest on CBC TV8’s the Morning Report.
