Renewable energy community meetings to be held

Come this Sunday, October 9th, householders in the north of the island will have the opportunity to hear about Government’s Smart Energy Programme, how they can reduce their electricity bill, earn additional income and benefit from renewable energy.

This as residents of St. Lucy and nearby districts are being encouraged to attend the “Invest In Renewable Energy Community Meeting” at the Checker Hall Salvation Army, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

At the meeting, there will be presentations on: Why smart energy is important to the householder; Government’s policy on smart energy; the technical aspects of how the householder can have renewable energy systems installed; the power purchase agreement, and community energy parks.

Householders will also learn about the various financing options available.

Other areas of Barbados will not be left out, as community meetings will be held in various locations across the island this month.

They are as follows:

• Wednesday, October 12th, at Queen’s College, Husbands, St. James, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

• Sunday, October 16th, at Deighton Griffith Secondary School, Kingsland Main Road, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

• Wednesday, October 19th, The Valley Resource Centre, St. George, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

• Monday, October 24th, Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Cross Roads, St. Philip, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

• Wednesday, October 26, Abundant Life Assembly, Lower Bank Hall Main Road, St. Michael, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

These meetings are being hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Business.
