The owners of public service vehicles have committed to providing buses that can accommodate people with disabilities.
That is according to the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Persons with Disabilities, Edmund Hinkson.
He was speaking during yesterday’s town hall meeting on the Draft National Policy for Improving the Lives of Persons with Disabilities at the Alexandra School.
Meanwhile, Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey, said the Government is giving consideration to providing support to caregivers.
He was responding to a submission from a member of the audience who spoke of a woman in her 50s who requires economic support, after dedicating most of her life to caring for someone with a disability.
