Barbados believes the private sector can do more in helping to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
During a Private Sector Roundtable at the SIDS4 Conference in Antigua and Barbuda, Permanent Representative to the UN and Other International Organisations in Geneva, Ambassador Matthew Wilson deemed their contributions as underwhelming.
He notes this is despite the efforts of UN agencies.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kerrie Symmonds was also among the panelists.
He has welcomed the introduction of debt pause clauses for countries hit by disasters.
Minister Symmonds however wants it applied to all loans.
