The Barbados Statistical Service (BSS) has suspended its Population and Housing Census until further notice.
In a statement, the BSS said it follows the circulation of a video in which a man offers fake identification cards and shirts for sale regarding the Census.
BSS officials have asked the public to be aware that the individual in the video is NOT associated with, nor is authorised to conduct business on behalf of the BSS.
The BSS also revealed they have since engaged the Barbados Police Service in the matter, since the safety of its staff and the Barbadian public is paramount.
The public is also reminded that all officers of the BSS are governed by the Statistic Act, which prohibits all employees from divulging information collected on individuals and individual businesses.
