Another fatal shooting has occurred today.
It happened around minutes to six this evening along Silver Sands Road at its junction with McCleans Gap, Christ Church.
Police say some people were reportedly liming at the junction when a vehicle drove up and multiple shots were fired.
After the shooting, one man remained lifeless on the ground and another was taken for medical attention in a private vehicle.
Homicide number 20 for 2024 comes hours after another shooting death early this morning.
The deceased in that early morning shooting has been identified as 24-year-old Baggio Boxill, of Black Rock, St. Michael.
When a CBC News crew visited the area, a number of men were seen with sombre faces in front of Boxill’s residence and on the nearby block.
However, they all declined to speak.
Police reports state five men were travelling in one vehicle along Black Rock Main Road, when they fired upon at about 2:40 a.m.
Boxill, who was the driver, died on the spot.
The other occupants received several injuries about the body, and sought medical treatment.
As a result, Police had to cordon off the road, which was reopened after 9:00 a.m.
