Police investigating two separate unnatural deaths

The Barbados Police Service is investigating two separate shooting deaths, which occurred at 4th Avenue, Harts Gap, Christ Church and Boyce Road, Free Hill, Black Rock, St. Michael on Wednesday night.

The incident at Harts Gap, resulted in the death of 32-year-old Chad Roett, of Proute, St. Thomas, while 30-year-old Raheam Brathwaite of Melvin’s Avenue, Black Rock, St. Michael, died in the other incident.

Statements from police on these incidents follows:

Unnatural death as a result of shooting incident
Police Operations Control Room received a report via telephone about 9:50 pm on Wednesday 5th June 2024, it stated that there was a shooting incident at 4th Avenue Harts Gap…
Police personnel responded and on arrival encountered the motionless body of Chad Roett 32 years of Proute, St. Thomas. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor.
Investigations are ongoing.

Unnatural death -Shooting incident
Police received yet another call around 9:58 pm on Wednesday 5th June 2024 – an anonymous caller reported multiple gunshots in Boyce Road, Free Hill, Black Rock, St. Michael.
Police responded and on investigation learnt that one man was injured and transported to hospital where he was later pronounced dead whilst receiving treatment.
The deceased is Raheam Brathwaite 30 years of Melvin’s Avenue, Black Rock, St. Michael
Investigations are ongoing.

Anyone who has knowledge or may have witnessed either of these two fatal shooting incidents which may or may not be connected to each other, is encouraged to contact the Black Rock police station at 417 7500, police emergency 211, Criminal Investigation Department at 4307189 or any other police station.
