The body of a man was discovered at Paynes Bay Beach, St. James on Monday.
He is Tony McDonald Leacock, 53 years, of Durants Village, Holders Hill, St. James.
Police in the Northern Division are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding his drowning, after his unresponsive body was discovered around 1:15 pm on Monday 29 August 2022, at Paynes Bay Beach, St. James.
Police provided more information on the discovery of his body:
On the mentioned date and time, a Water Sports Operator was informed that there was a body of a man at the bottom of the water. Having identified that there was in fact a body, the Operator dived in and retrieved the body and brought it to shore. The body was identified by a family member.
Anyone who can provide any information that can assist with these investigations is asked to call the Holetown Police Station at 419-1700, Police Emergency 211, Crime Stoppers at 1800-TIPS (8477) or the nearest Police Station.
Police added that “all information received will be strictly confidential”.
