“The statistics are showing many parents need support and skills.”
This is according to one of the organisations employed by the government to run the national Parent-Wise Programme.
Speaking at one of the sessions at the Parkinson Resource Centre, Advisor Ambrose Carter said the statistics showed one of the main reasons for high crime is poor parenting. He says programmes like these can help parents.
Mr. Carter also explains some of the important skills that will be passed on to the parents in the programme, noting that while the programme has started slowly it is now gaining traction with parents. He has however made a call for more parents to show interest.
