The drafting of new child protection legislation will forge a closer relationship between the Child Care Board, the Barbados Police Service and other stakeholders, including the legal profession.
In the interim, a stakeholder workshop on reporting child abuse and the creation of a procedural protocol was organised between the Child Care Board and key partners.
Programme Assistant at UNICEF Reisha Husbands reminded those present, child protection and law enforcement agencies have a shared responsibility to keep children safe.
