A call has been made for continuous support for medical laboratories across the region and not just in times of crisis.
It’s come from Infectious Disease Consultant, Dr. The Most Honourable Corey Forde.
He was addressing the Caribbean Association of Medical Technologists Awards Ceremony held recently.
He says during the COVID-19 pandemic, many labs were outfitted with new equipment, but additional improvements are needed.
Medical technologists from The Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and the Cayman Islands were among those on the Zisland for the conference.
Dr. Forde used the occasion to recognise them for their service during the pandemic.
