More people are taking an interest in the courses offered at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology.
And Principal Ian Drakes says already for this year, all courses are fully subscribed with over 500 students.
He says there are a number of people on a waiting list to start classes on August 26.
Mr. Drakes says several of the students on job attachment are asked to send formal letters of application to become permanent members of staff following their training.
He says the electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration fields are thriving and he’s now looking to include a third cohort in those particular fields.
Additionally, the principal says more people are also returning to pursuing trades, which he says has been reinforced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
