The Ministry of Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology on this World Telecommunications Day has committed to continue playing its part in achieving a fully, digitally transformed environment and ensuring Mission Barbados is realised by the year 2030.
Minister Davidson Ishmael in a statement says by doing this, Barbados will be fit for purpose economically, socially and politically.
He says the Government is cognizant of the importance of equipping Barbadians with the requisite skills and knowledge to be able to make the most of a more digitally enabled Barbados.
He adds his Ministry continues to work in tandem with the telecoms sector providers and other ICT stakeholders to improve the quality of life for all.
World Telecoms Day is being observed under the theme “Empowering the Least Developed Countries Through Information and Communication Technologies”.
