Fire officials managed to prevent serious damage to the Food Court at Sheraton Mall, after a pan in the kitchen of a restaurant caught fire.
Chief Fire Officer Errol Maynard told CBC News the area was evacuated and the fire was quickly extinguished.
However, he says due to the lingering smoke in the area the Food Court has been shut off, but other areas of the Mall remain open.
