Barbados is testing its execution of a Type-2 WHO Field Hospital.
This type of hospital offers all the services of a general hospital on a temporary site. It is being done through the two-day full exercise being executed by the Barbados Defence Force’s Field Medical Team (BDF FMT) on the stadium grounds. The officer in charge of the BDF FMT, Major David Clarke, says 120 cadets from the Barbados Cadet Corps are also participating in the simulation, which started yesterday.
Several medical experts, including nurses, also participated in the exercise. One of them, Carol-Ann Thompson-Gaskin, explained some of the services available in the setup.
