Shooting victim Kemo Sealy is lucky to be alive.

A close relative of the Sargeant Street, St. John resident, who was shot in his chest and neck just outside his home on Sunday, tells CBC News that he remains hospitalised in stable condition.

According to police reports, Sealy was riding his motocrcycle to his home when he was attacked by two armed men who shot him in his chest and neck.

After firing the shots, the two men fled the scene while the victim was transported to hospital in serious condition.

The relative who asked not to be identified said the ordeal has left residents of the close knit community reeling in shock and traumatised.

They said this is the first time such an incident has taken place in the area.
