Personnel from Criminal Investigations Department Headquarters have arrested and formally charged 33-year-old Brian Oneal Browne of Eastbourne #1, St Philip, for the murder of 58-year-old Janice Mitchell, of 1st Avenue Chapman Lane, St Michael.
Mitchell passed away from the injuries sustained in a fire, in which her daughter and granddaughter were also seriously burnt.
Browne has also been charged with:
•Serious bodily harm to 36-year-old Keisha Mitchell, of 1st Avenue Chapman Lane, St. Michael.
•Serious bodily harm to a 1-year-old minor (Haylee Mitchell), of 1st Avenue Chapman Lane, St Michael.
•Arson – setting fire to the residence of Janice Mitchell at 1st Avenue, Chapman Lane, St Michael.
These offences occurred on Saturday 10th July about 2:30 am.
Janice Mitchell was hospitalized and later died on Tuesday 13th July. Keisha Mitchell and her 1 year old daughter (Halee) remain hospitalized in critical condition.
He is expected to appear in the District A Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, Tuesday 20th July 2021.
