With the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup quickly approaching legislation has been passed in Parliament to facilitate the seamless hosting of the games.
The ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies Bill, 2024 and the Visiting Police Forces (ICC Cricket World Cup 2024) Bill 2024 were both passed when the Upper House met today.
Leading off the Debate, Government Senator Dr. Shantal Munro-Knight defended the extensive preparations being made by the Mia Mottley administration in the lead up to the tournament.
She stresses ordinary people will benefit from the facelifts and special initiatives being executed across the island.
