A regional trade and investment promotion agency says inter-regional transportation remains a barrier for trade and investment in the Caribbean.
Executive Director of the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) Deodat Maharaj says a way must be found to reduce the cost of inter-regional transportation.
To drive home his point, he drew reference to the cost of travel to the USA compared to the Caribbean.
Mr. Maharaj was a guest on CBC TV8s Mornin’ Barbados.
Caribbean Export is set to launch an inaugural trade and investment mission to West Africa next week.
Mr. Maharaj says the first country the team will visit is Ghana.
