Increased demand for back-to-school assistance

With increasing demand for back-to-school assistance, the Salvation Army is appealing to corporate Barbados for more assistance.

Chairman Paul Bernstein says the organisation has already distributed a hundred back-to-school vouchers and supplies for the upcoming school year which begins next week.

However, more parents are still requesting assistance.

Managing Director of Abed & Co Ltd. Eddy Abed, who contributed 100 vouchers to the drive, says the level of need has grown this year when compared to 2023.

He says for 2024, even though the business increased its level of back-to-school assistance by 30%, more people are approaching him for help.
