With the 2024 Crop Over season in full swing, Barbados Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong, does not want citizens to lose focus on the Season of Emancipation and its importance.
It commenced on April 14 the date of the Bussa Rebellion.
Ambassador Comissiong says other important dates are nearing as the season reaches its climax.
July 26 will be observed as a Day of National Significance, followed by Emancipation Day come August 1.
He says these days must be celebrated.
Minister of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector, Colin Jordan, has reminded that some of the advances made by Barbados came as a result of the struggles of our foreparents.
