Illegal dumping is still a major problem in Barbados, specifically around the landfill, in gullies and cart roads.
In an effort to tackle it, the Ministry of Environment, through the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA), has launched a national Clean Up Campaign from May 24 to 26.
Minister of the Environment and National Beautification, Adrian Forde says the Government will no longer tolerate the illegal habit, and disposing of bulk waste should be the norm for all.
He was speaking during the Ministry’s Clean and Green initiative of a park at Kendal Woods, St. John.
Additionally, Minister Forde urges Barbadians to do their part to combat illegal dumping.
