Minister of Housing, Lands and Maintenance Dwight Sutherland has cleared the air on the ownership of Home Ownership Providing Energy or HOPE Inc.
He says HOPE is a commercial state-owned enterprise with Government as the lone shareholder and not a private entity.
The Minister has also made it clear there’s nothing nefarious about the letter presented yesterday by Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne and listed the lands which have been vested by the National Housing Corporation in HOPE.
Mr. Sutherland says some 15 sites will be used to provide homes to ordinary Barbadians.
