Home Ownership Providing Energy (HOPE) Inc. has appointed William Layne as the Chairman of its new Board of Directors.
He replaces former Chairman Tony Hoyos.
Layne, a Financial Consultant for the past 12 years, has over 40 years of experience in the public sector. He served in various positions including Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Supervisor of Insurance, Director of Social Security and Economist and Price Control Officer in the Ministry of Trade.
In a release, the new Chairman said his first order of business will be a review of the company’s current business plan to ensure that HOPE is delivering on its housing programme mission in the most cost effective manner.
Serving as Deputy Chairman will be Anthony Audain, Q.C., who heads Aâstra Law’s Commercial, Corporate Law & Value Added Tax (VAT) Practice. He has a background in economics, government and business consulting and is currently a director of New Life Investment Company Inc., and Resolution Life Assurance Company Ltd.
Other Board members include Joseph Steinbok, Rawdon Adams and Quinnel Reece, who will be joined by one representative each from the Ministry of Housing, Lands and Maintenance, the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Investment and the Central Bank of Barbados.
