The top boy and top girl in this year’s Barbados Secondary Schools Entrance Examination have attributed their success to hard work and dedication as well as parents and teachers who believed in their ability.
CBC caught up with Jeremiah Browne at the St. Stephen’s Primary School when he came to collect his results and was congratulated by his teacher Natalie Conliffe, Principal Dr. Colin Cumberbatch and his parents Jeremy and Melissa Browne.
His father said Jeremiah prioritised and put work first.
Meanwhile top girl Elena Bohne was with parents Melissa and Enricco to celebrate her success at Buzo restaurant.
Elena said they were watching the news conference when she became aware she was the top female student in the 11 Plus.
Her father Enricco said everyone in the household shared in the jubilation and that her work ethic was always high.
Both students will be attending Queen’s College.
